How often do your officers receive training on laws related to false imprisonment and assault.
In answering this, the initial question posed has been interpreted as asking about teaching of legislation. As such, all new recruit police officers undertake training on legislation relating to offences against the person, including assault, within their initial learning phase, in accordance with the National Police Curriculum set by the College of Policing. The offence of false imprisonment under common law is not currently included within the National Police Curriculum or initial recruit learning within the MPS.
