Q1 - Are any members of staff provided with accommodation as part of their employment contract?
Officers and Staff are not offered accommodation as part of their standard contract terms.
Q2 - Do any members of staff rent accommodation from the authority?
Only police officer new recruits are eligible to rent accommodation, of which there is a limited supply.
Q3 - What is the cost to the authority in providing this accommodation?
Please see costs associated with residential properties that are owned by the MPS, which include statutory planned maintenance as well as reactive repair works. Costs provided are for the last two years.

For new recruit police officers’ accommodation, the individual is responsible for utility costs for the duration of their accommodation.
Q4 - What size of accommodation is provided?
The residential portfolio available for allocation consists of two, three and four bedroom flats.
Q5 - When was this accommodation last refurbished?
Accommodation is refurbished on an “as and when needed” basis. The MPS does not have a major refurbishment plan in place for residential properties. Due to budget constraints, with the exception of some properties that require extensive works, there is no specific timescale for refurbishment at this point in time.
