Freedom of information request reference no: 01.FOI.24.041779
I note you seek access to the following information:
I would like to know how many 3D-printed guns have been recovered by the force in each year (separately) between 2020 and 2024.
I have today decided to disclose some of the requested information. Some data has been withheld as it is exempt from disclosure and therefore this response serves as a Refusal Notice under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the Act) by virtue of the following exemptions:
Section 23(5) - Information supplied by, or relating to, bodies dealing with security matters
Reason for decision
Section 23(5) - Information supplied by, or relating to, bodies dealing with security matters - provides an exclusion from the duty to confirm or deny whether information is held, if doing so would reveal whether information is held or not held, that was directly or indirectly supplied to the MPS by, or relates to, any agency/body specified in Section 23(3) of the Act.
In claiming this exemption, the MPS neither confirms nor denies that any further information is held that would be the subject of Section 23(1) and Section 23(3) of the Act. In this regard, Section 23(5) of the Act is claimed. Section 23(5) of the Act is an absolute exemption and as such, no public interest test (a test to determine whether the public interest supports confirming or denying whether the information sought is held) is required to claim this exemption.
