I note you seek access to the following information:

1. To date, how many people have had their vetting status reviewed.
2. How many had their vetting removed or retained.
3. To date, how many people have retained their vetting status but with a risk mitigation strategy put in place.
4. Of those who have had their vetting status removed, how many appealed against the vetting decision.
5. How many people have been either successful in their vetting appeal.
6. How many of them have returned to full duty.
7. How many who were unsuccessful in their vetting appeal have now progressed to stage 3 and are currently awaiting a hearing for gross incompetence due to their loss of RV vetting clearance.
8. Is there currently a backlog of people waiting for a gross incompetency hearing.
9. How many have been dismissed from the MPS for gross incompetence as a result of the Operation Assure process.

I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full. Please find below information pursuant to your request above.

Q1 - To date, how many people have had their vetting status reviewed.

197.

Q2 - How many had their vetting removed or retained.

108 Withdrawn / 89 Maintained

Q3 - To date, how many people have retained their vetting status but with a risk mitigation strategy put in place.

3 people were maintained with Vetting Aftercare in place. 9 people were already managed by the DPS before the Op Assure referral and continue to be managed.

Q4 - Of those who have had their vetting status removed, how many appealed against the vetting decision.

7 (21 appeal decisions remain outstanding).

Q6 - How many of them have returned to full duty.

All those whose appeals were successful have had their vetting reinstated in full except for the 9 referred to above at Q3 and 5 who have since left the MPS.

Q7 - How many who were unsuccessful in their vetting appeal have now progressed to stage 3 and are currently awaiting a hearing for gross incompetence due to their loss of RV vetting clearance.

11 officers are awaiting a Gross Incompetency hearing.

Q8 - Is there currently a backlog of people waiting for a gross incompetency hearing.

11 officers are awaiting a Gross Incompetency hearing. 1 member of police staff is awaiting a dismissal meeting (they did not appeal the vetting decision).

Q9 - How many have been dismissed from the MPS for gross incompetence as a result of the Operation Assure process.

20 have been dismissed via Gross Incompetence hearings. 4 police staff have been dismissed via a dismissal meeting and 2 officers dismissed via Regulation 13 (probation).
