I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full. Please find below information pursuant to your request above.
Q1 - As of 5 August 2024 The number of Water Cannons in use by Metropolitan Police excluding water cannons used for training purposes; The number of police officers that are trained in the use of Water Cannons.
The MPS do not have any water cannons (anymore)
Q2 - As of 5 August 2024 The number of Drones in use by Metropolitan Police excluding the number of drones used for training purposes; The number of police officers that are trained and qualified to use the Drones.
The MPS own and use a variety of drones from a number of different manufacturers. The Air Support unit own 24 drones. The MPS currently owns a total of 80 Drones.
Q2.1 - The number of police officers that are trained and qualified to use the Drones.
We currently have 24 trained Drone pilots in the Met. Only 16 are in currency (currently active and in date with training and licensing).
