For the period 30 September 2023 to 30 September 2024, please provide the following information:
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full. Please find below information pursuant to your request above.
Q1 - How many sex offenders were managed by your force under MAPPA during this period.
For October 2024 monthly stats, the MPS had 9,766 active offenders not abroad or deported. In the community the MPS had 7,309 offenders.
For October 2023 monthly stats the MPS had 9,106 active offenders not abroad or deported. It is important to note that the data was recorded differently back in 2023. Therefore, we have taken the total offenders including reactive and added in custody offenders also. In the community we had 6,972 offenders.
Q2- How many of these were classified as high risk.
The only breakdown held is a record of the risk level for those in community. These are as follows:
For October 2024 – out of the 7,309 offenders 1,135 were high risk offenders.
For October 2023 – out of the 6,972 offenders 1,030 were high risk offenders.
3 - How many sex offenders currently managed under MAPPA by your force are recorded as missing.
The MPS do not hold a record of missing offenders. These nominals become wanted due to being in breach of their notification requirements, for failing to provide an address they can be found.
Q4 - How many risk-managed sex offenders notified your force of a name change during this period.
The MPS do not record name changes on the Violent and Sex Offender Register (ViSOR) therefore this information is not held.
