Freedom of information request reference no: 01.FOI.25.044003
I note you seek access to the following information:
As you say that everyone is being dealt with sequentially, can you let me know for the number / person / case you are currently attending to; how long overdue had that been waiting for until seen.
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full. Please find below information pursuant to your request above.
I note you have asked can you let me know the number / person /case you are currently attending to and that this is in respect of Right of Access requests. I have interpreted your request to be can you let me know the number / person / case the MPS are currently attending to.
I would like to advise you that the MPS have a team of 34 individuals (some of whom are part time) working on Right of Access requests. At the time of writing (02 April 2025) the MPS has 5,248 live Right of Access requests. Details of our Right of Access demand and performance are published and can accessed using the link below:
MPS | Right of Access (ROA) performance dashboard.
In respect of your question how long overdue had that been waiting for until seen. I can confirm that the oldest unresolved case we are working on was received on the 10 October 2023. In respect of how long that has been waiting for until seen as explained requests are assessed when they are first received and some actions, including securing body worn video, are undertaken immediately by the Tasking and Coordination Unit that are responsible for the initial logging and acknowledgement of requests. Following this initial action requests must wait for a case worker to be assigned to them. I can confirm that the request in question was assigned to a case worker on 31 March 2025.
