The MPS support the DVLA Medical Licencing Department by making referrals. This occurs if there are grounds to suspect a licence holder has failed to comply with their legal obligations to notify the DVLA of a potential relevant medical condition that may affect their ability to drive safely.
Drivers have a legal duty to inform DVLA of any relevant medical condition under Section 92 and 94 Road Traffic Act 1988.
