Q1 - Would you please be able to provide any more information about the criteria that are considered when deciding whether to allocate the Everyone's Invited flag (flag type 2, flag code ED) to a particular case on CRIS/CONNECT.
The website Everyone’s Invited was founded in June 2020 and allows for accounts of sexual activity to be uploaded and published relating to peer-on-peer abuse linked to education establishments, an Everyone’s Invited CRIS flag (ED) was created to be utilised from 21 June 2021.
This was to capture all CRIS reports created following: -
The benefits to the Metropolitan Police Service were to track the increased number of sexual offence reports that have arisen from this website and its publicity. The introduction of the flag allowed these to be differentiated from any typical rise in reporting, especially as the country continued to unlock from the Covid Pandemic restrictions.
Q2 - Further to my message above, I would also like to know please if there are any other flags similar to the Everyone's Invited flag (flag type 2, flag code ED) on CRIS/CONNECT. If so, what are the names of these flags.
The operation Hydrant flag was designed to be put on for allegations of non-recent child sexual abuse involving institutions, organisations or persons of public prominence Operation Hydrant. The flag is very similar to the Everyone’s Invited flag in aim and application.
Both the Everyone's Invited and the Operation Hydrant flags are no longer used due to less publicity around the Everyone’s invited website.
