Q1 - Total number of 'Frontline' officers, including those recorded as 'in probation' as at 1 September 2024, including those on short-term and long-term periods of leave and those on restricted duties.
Headcount = 21835.
Q2 - Total number of 'Frontline' officers that took any period of sickness absence between 1 September 2023 to 31 August 2024. NB: Figures requested by number of officers that recorded any absence – not by total number of absences.”

In answering your request, a frontline officer has been defined as a police officer in Business Group Level 2 Frontline Policing. Business Group Level 2 Frontline Policing captures all officers across the Met who provide policing to London's 32 boroughs, delivering local policing and specialist crime investigation across London.
