Please provide information for each of the following periods, as specified in the tables in the Appendix: 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2021, 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2022, 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2023.

Please provide information relating to your police force area.

  1. What was the total number of stop and searches for all reasons, where a more thorough search occurred (PACE code A 3.6)? Please provide data sorted by (self-defined) ethnic group, gender, and age.
  2. What was the total number of stop and searches for all reasons, where a more thorough search occurred (PACE code A 3.6) and it was a positive search? Please provide data sorted by (self-defined) ethnic group, gender, and age.
  3. What was the total number of stop and searches for all reasons, where a search involved exposure of intimate parts of the body (‘strip searches’) (PACE Code A 3.7)? Please provide data sorted by (self-defined) ethnic group, gender, and age.

CAVEAT
The Stop & Search policy is that where SDE (Self Defined Ethnicity) is not asked for, we default to ODE (Officer Defined Ethnicity) and where SDE only is specifically asked for, we would provide ODE as well. This is because SDE does not have to be provided and approximately 25% of our records contain no SDE and it is therefore the least transparent data that we can produce.
