I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full. Please find below information pursuant to your request above.
Which BCU has the most PC shortage.
The MPS assess the various level of officer workforce strength across its units on a monthly basis. It takes into account those employees leaving or joining the MPS,
and then seeks to ensure that workforce moves maintain a balance of Officers across all units. This means that various units will have differing levels of officers throughout the year.
It then looks to further resource those areas of particular operational importance, which include our Borough Command Units, where many of our officers are directly engaged with the public and the London communities they serve.
Our BCUs are all of differing size and shape, to reflect the community they serve, so the level of vacancies managed will dependent unit to unit. On average our BCUs are resourced to 99-100% excluding those officer under initial training (0-6mths). This has been a fairly static position for the last 18 months.
As noted above the fluctuations in the workforce and the work that we consistently complete to maintained a balanced workforce means that no one unit is always the area of greatest PC shortage.
