Lost equipment recorded in 2023

I note you seek access to the following information:

How many electronic devices (e.g. laptops, mobile phones) were lost my Met Police Officers in 2023.
How many tasers were lost by Met Police Officers in 2023.
How many handcuffs were lost by Met Police Officers in 2023.

Decision

I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full. Please find below information pursuant to your request above.

Q1 - How many electronic devices (e.g. laptops, mobile phones) were lost my Met Police Officers in 2023.

It has been confirmed that the following items were reported lost in 2023.

Lost laptops – 173 (out of in excess 40,000 laptops)

Lost Mobile Phones – 444 (out of in excess of 35,000 smartphones)

Q2 - How many tasers were lost by Met Police Officers in 2023.

I have been advised that no tasers were reported lost in 2023.

Q3 - How many handcuffs were lost by Met Police Officers in 2023.

I have been advised that 31 handcuffs were reported as lost or stolen during 2023 (out of in excess of 25,000 handcuffs).
