Freedom of information request reference no: 01.FOI.24.036455
I note you seek access to the following information:
I make deliveries by push bike every morning at 5-7am around Hampton Wick (Richmond upon Thames), including roads Hampton Wick High Street, Sandy Lane, Upper Teddington Road, Church Grove and Kingston Road.
Every single day there are lots and lots of speeding cars, sometimes going by at scary speeds, and it makes me feel incredibly unsafe on my bicycle.
I know there are speed cameras on Sandy Lane. I wanted to check these drivers are being caught?
Are there speed cameras on any of the other roads I mentioned and if so, are these drivers being penalised?
If not, can cameras be installed at all (so long as they actually result in penalisation of course!!).
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full.
Please find below information pursuant to your request above.
Are there speed cameras on any of the other roads I mentioned and if so, are these drivers being penalised?
Yes, we can confirm there are cameras on Hampton Court Road; Hampton Road; Sandy Lane and Kingston Road with enforcement taking place at these locations.
We would also advise that you make representations to the relevant local authority if you have concerns regarding speeding at certain locations in the area.
If not, can cameras be installed at all (so long as they actually result in penalisation of course!!)
Police only enforce the cameras in London and you will need to refer this part of your request to Transport for London (TfL) who own the speed cameras.
