I would like to know the policy and regulations regarding Met police dog handlers and dogs. The specific information is the accommodation aspect.

I am led to believe that the dogs have to provided with accommodation at the handlers home.

The MPS Dog Handlers have their garden/address assessed to ensure it’s suitable for a police kennel. Must be well maintained fences and have a garden.

The MPS will install a double kennel to the garden on a steel stand/plate as there is an expectation that a handler will dual handle while in the dog section.
