Q1 - The number of graduates who have quit from the Degree Holder Entry Programme for Detective Constable since 2018.
The specific Degree Holder Entry Programme for Detective Constables began in January 2021, prior to this it was the Direct Entry Detective Pathway.
These two have been combined for the answer provided.
From January 2018 to December 2023, the Met has recruited 3,278 Detective Constables through the Direct Entry Detective Pathway/Degree Holder Entry Programme for Detective Constables schemes.
Over the 6 years, out of the 3,278 recruited, 2,566 (78%) are still serving, however 712 (22%) have since left the Met.
Q2 - How much money is invested into the Degree Holder Entry Programme for Detective Constable each year.
Please note that the Degree Holder Entry Program (DHEP) commenced in January 2021.
2020/21 - £0.2m
2021/22 - £2.7m
2022/23 - £9.5m
For the 2023/24 financial year the MPS are currently forecasting a spend of £13.2m.
