I note you seek access to the following information:
I am hear to gain information on some units within your MO7 Taskforce.
- What superintendent does the Surge Chief Inspector report to (i.e. HQ Superintendent).
- How many interceptor teams are operating and provide the rank structure for them (PCs all the way up to superintendent, please specific the number for each rank).
- Is it possible to book a ride along with the surge or interceptor team.
- How is the surge interceptor team deployed to BCUs (please explain the difference if there is one).
- What is the highest rank operational during Surge / Interceptor deployments.

I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full. Please find below information pursuant to your request above.
Q1 - What superintendent does the Surge Chief Inspector report to (i.e. HQ Superintendent)
The Surge Chief Inspector reports to the Superintendent - TSG & TST
Q2 - How many interceptor teams are operating and provide the rank structure for them (PCs all the way up to superintendent, please specific the number for each rank).
Currently four Taskforce Surge Teams are in operation which encompasses an Interceptor Tactical Pursuit and Containment (TPAC) capability. These teams consist of 1 Chief Inspector, 4 Inspectors, 16 Sgts and 92 Constables.
Q3 - Is it possible to book a ride along with the surge or interceptor team.
Although not within the remit of FOI, I have been informed that a ride along would not be possible.
Q4 - How is the surge interceptor team deployed to BCUs (please explain the difference if there is one).
The Taskforce Surge Teams are deployed via the Corporate Posting Meeting which decides where Pan London resources are deployed.
Q5) What is the highest rank operational during Surge Interceptor deployments.
Q5A - How many surge teams are active per day.
Q5B - How many interceptor teams are active per day.
Day to day the highest rank operational is a Sergeant although Inspectors deploy operationally for large pre-planned operations. The teams work a varying shift pattern but each day normally 2 or 3 teams are active each day.
