Additional Context regarding data provided today
On our CONNECT system, disposals are no longer recorded as Charged and Bailed to Court and Charged and Detained for Court.
Data extracted for Question One (1) is based on the arrest data.
The MPS can only provide details of arrested persons who were detained and then taken to a MPS Custody Suite. The number of custody records do not equal the number of individuals. For example, an individual may have been arrested twice within the time period stated.
Only offences with a current offence status of disposed or temporarily disposed have been included.
Westminster Bridge was used in the search function to extract custody records with Westminster Bridge as part of the offence and or arrest Location.
Address Location is a free text field with no pre-defined fields.
Entries can be vague or detailed, down to postcode.
The report that extracted the data cannot take into account entries that may contain spelling mistakes in the address entry. A Custody Record was counted if it had at least one offence title related to gambling or the circumstances of arrest mentioned gambling for fraud offenses.
