Please provide any or all documentation which would give the Metropolitan Police the authority to prohibit or curtail the Constitutional, Legitimate and Lawful Right to Protest by peaceful means, and in particular the protest planned for 27 July 2024 in Central London.
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full. Please find below information pursuant to your request above.
Under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, please provide any/all documentation which would give the Metropolitan Police the authority to prohibit or curtail the Constitutional, Legitimate and Lawful Right to Protest by peaceful means, and in particular the protest planned for 27 July 2024 in Central London.
The police have statutory and common law powers and duties in relation to public order public safety (POPS) policing and these must be considered in conjunction with the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR). In addition the MPS will consider all available intelligence as part of any decision making.
