Is training on officer's obligations under the Act completed by current/existing officers?
All recruits in training and new officers to the MPS must complete the online BWV training. Since November 2021, this training has included a section on the use of BWV cameras in line with the Mental Health Units (use of force) Act 2018
If it is ongoing mandatory training, how often would it be repeated by current / existing officers?
The BWV training is completed once when an officer joins the MPS; any updates to the BWV policy of use are communicated to officers via Operational notices and internal communications.
