Q1 - How many speed enforcement activities did the MPS undertake in the Borough of Wandsworth, using a hand held speed camera, in 2023? Please split the information between MPS-led activities and Community Speed Watch
For the period requested, we can confirm that the MPS recorded 966 Traffic Offence Reports (TOR’s) Speeding Offences using a handheld camera in the London Borough of Wandsworth. Please note that Community Road Watch (CRW) activity is not an enforcement activity and therefore, no FPNs/summons are ever issued. Drivers instead may receive a warning letter which is designed to engage & educate around choosing safe speeds in the future as a responsible driver/rider and in 2023, a total of 47 Sessions were held for drivers. We do not however, record borough level data for the number of vehicles detected whose registered keeper subsequently receives a warning letter.
2. How many red-light violation activities did the MPS undertake in the Borough of Wandsworth, using a hand held speed camera, in 2023? Please split the information between people driving (drivers) and people walking (cyclists).
In 2023 the MPS using a handheld speed camera, issued 81 Traffic Offences (TOR’s) to drivers in the London Borough of Wandsworth for red-light violation activities. Our searches however, on cycle red light offences produced a nil result. This is because we do not detect red light offences with handheld speed cameras.
Q3 - How many Road Traffic Collisions did MPS attend in 2023? Where possible please list separately how many of these RTCs involved a fatality, serious injuries, slight injuries, and/or damage
Please see the following table for Road Traffic Collisions attended by the MPS in 2023.
