Clarification -
In relation to my request on;
3) How many officers employed on the PCDA course have applied since its inauguration and how many have left and your response for further information;
You : For question 3 are you referring to the number of PCDA applications or Joiners under PCDA?
This was a retention question to ascertain how many people have been accepted onto the PCDA course since its inauguration, how many have been retained and how many have left.
ie How many have taken advantage of the funded 3 year degree course and been retained and how many have left.
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full.

Q1 - How many applications have you had to join the Met per month since January 2024 for ;
a) Uniform PCs (excluding rejoining retired officers) b) Rejoining officers (all ranks)

For b) we have used the following manners of joining: Police- 30+ Scheme; Police- Rejoined after break in service (no MPS service); Police- Rejoined after break in service (prev. MPS service); Return Scheme
For d) we used the following manners of joining: Direct Entry Superintendent; Police Constable Entry Programme (PCEP); Police- Direct Entrant (H.O. Graduate Entry Scheme); Police- Direct Entrant (MPS Graduate Entry Scheme); Police- Direct Entrant (Not H.O. Graduate Entry Scheme)
There is an overlap between a) and b) because of uniform constables that rejoined, but not with the 30+ scheme or the return scheme. There is an overlap between a) and d) because of uniform constables that are direct entrants.

This was a retention question to ascertain how many people have been accepted onto the PCDA course since its inauguration, how many have been retained and how many have left.
ie How many have taken advantage of the funded 3 year degree course and been retained and how many have left.
2164 have officers have joined as a PCDA. Of those, as of today, 418 left within three years of joining. Furthermore, 11 further people entered as a PCDA and have now left but after serving three years or more.

a) restricted duties - (recuperative duties and/or adjusted duties) 4683

Q5 - How many uniformed officers are currently active for frontline duties and how many uniformed officers are the Met short?
The data is taken from 31 May 2024. The total Strength of active uniform Police Officer in the BCU’s is 12157.
Q6 - How many firearms applications have you had since Jan 2024?
From January 2024 we have received 224 firearms applications.
