As of 2013 the MPS had a unit within it known as the "National Domestic Extremism and Disorder Intelligence Unit", also known at points as the "National Domestic Extremism Unit". There appears to be little public information following this date, and so I'd like to request:
Where disclosing specific numbers would cause security risks, please feel free to disclose ranges("between 3 and 5 million pounds" or "staffing level of between 70 and 80" for example.
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you.

Q1 - Whether the unit still exists under this name, and if it does not which successor unit(s) have inherited it's responsibilites.
No. As of April 2020 Mi5 took primacy for Extreme Right Wing & Left Anarchist Single Issue Terrorism. The database is called the National Common Intelligence Application (NCIA) which is owned by Counter Terrorism Policing. This holds counter terrorism relevant material and is not a domestic extremist database. Local intelligence in relation to criminal activity is held by local forces.
Q2 - The budget for the unit or successor unit(s) & Q3 - Staffing levels of the unit(s) (total manpower, ideally with a breakdown of - The rank of the officer leading the unit, and if above superintendent level their name.
The successor to the National Domestic Extremism and Disorder Intelligence Unit and the National Domestic Extremism Unit does not fall under the remit of the MPS, the information sought is not held.
Given the NPoCC has a national remit, in order to determine whether the information you seek is held you are required to submit a request to the team who manage national freedom of information requests on behalf of NPCC. Below is a link to their email address.
