Allegations of sexual abuse claims from 2014 to 2022

I note you seek access to the following information:

I would like you to answer a refined request based on the guidance provided in your response.

I.e using the same questions as my previous request please can the Operation Winterkey / the Complex Investigation Team search their records for any reports received relating to historic sexual abuse claims relating to scouts within the cost threshold.

In recent months and years a number of people have come forward with allegations against the scouts for historic child sexual abuse claims.

MY REQUEST:

1 - Please can you confirm the number of allegations received by the force in relation to sexual abuse claims against the scouts? Please limit your response to the number of cases received in the following calendar years: 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022.

2 - Please can you also confirm how many of the allegations listed in the answer to question 1 led to either an arrest and/or a conviction?

Further to my request, please note that if the data is unable to be retrieved in line with my current request i would be willing to accept a response based on data obtained via keyword searches.

The words to use for your keyword searches would be "Scouts" "scout leader" "scouts association".

  • Operation Winter Key/CIT are aware of three investigations involving sexual abuse allegations against the scouts.
  • All three investigations have resulted in arrests.
  • Two of the investigations are currently ongoing.
  • The third resulted in the charges being quashed at court.
