The Commissioner made a recent reference which referred to Met officers currently on restricted duties and those currently suspended: In respect of those on restricted duties, I request the following:
I accept that some officers will have more than one allegation of misconduct being investigated but the objective is to establish the number of officers under investigation together with a broad indication of the scale and nature of such misconduct. I appreciate that a full response may not be practicable. This is NOT about denigrating the Met
a. The number of officers placed on restricted duties after their vetting record had been reviewed?
b. The number of officers placed on restricted duties after allegations/previous investigations of domestic violence had been reviewed?
c. The number of officers placed on restricted duties after allegations/previous investigations concerning sexual offences had been reviewed?
d The number of officers placed on restricted duties after allegations/previous investigations of excessive use of force had been reviewed?
e. The number of officers placed on restricted duties after allegations of corruption were the focal point of the investigation and had been reviewed.
f. The number of ‘new’ misconduct cases that had been ‘opened’ since the Commissioner’s appointment where officers are on restricted duties.
g. The number of officers suspended after their vetting record had been reviewed?
h. The number of officers suspended after allegations/previous investigations of domestic violence had been reviewed?
i. The number of officers suspended after allegations/previous investigations concerning sexual offences had been reviewed?
j The number of officers suspended after allegations/previous investigations of excessive use of force had been reviewed?
k.The number of officers suspended after allegations of corruption were the focal point of the investigation and had been reviewed.
l.The number of ‘new’ misconduct cases that had been ‘opened’ since the Commissioner’s appointment where officers have been suspended. (These can be divided into ‘historic’ misconduct cases that allegedly occurred before Commissioner’s appointment but subsequently reported and those misconduct cases that have allegedly occurred since the Commissioner’s appointment).
