Q1 - Is it an offence for cyclists to overtake a static line of traffic queueing at a zebra crossing in London?
It is an offence for a motor vehicle to overtake as described if it overtakes the vehicle nearest the stop line. This offence is specific to motor vehicles, depending on the circumstances the rider of a cycle may commit an offence of either Sec 28 or 29 Road Traffic Act 1988 – dangerous or careless/inconsiderate cycling.
Q2 - Secondly, is it an offence to position my bike alongside stationary queueing traffic over the centre of broken lines facing oncoming traffic?
