Freedom of information request reference no: 01.FOI.23.032248
I note you seek access to the following information:
The barred list shows all officers, special constables and staff members who have been dismissed from policing after investigations under the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2020 or Police (Performance) Regulations 2020. It also shows the equivalents for police staff.
In relation to internal procedures with the Met, can you advise if persons who have been dismissed and are on the barred list are able to access police stations if it is a requirement of their employment?
For example, if a Dismissed Officer has the necessary security clearance, and is working as a Solicitor, Legal Representative or Home Office Employee and requires access to custody suites or meetings with Law Enforcement at a Police Station, is this permissible under the current procedures and policy with the Met?
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full.
Please find below information pursuant to your request above.
Anyone who needs access to any MPS building in any capacity, as part of any organisation, will require a pass to enter, which will require vetting.
If found on the Barred and Advisory list, vetting will be refused.
