Q2a. If yes to Q1, do you commit to providing this information in a certain timeframe?
Q2b. If no, for what reason is this your policy?
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full.
Please find below information pursuant to your request above.
Q1 - Do you inform those who submit footage of the specific action you have chosen to take? e.g. "driver sent a warning letter", "driver issued with notice of intended prosecution", "no further action taken".
Q2a - If yes to Q1, do you commit to providing this information in a certain timeframe?
As per the information on the Single On-Line Home Platform, which is a National system, when the individual reporting fills the report, it states that if we are proceeding with the case the individual will be contacted, if they do not hear anything within 6 weeks then no action will be taken. The individual making the allegation will be given a reference if a Notice of intended Prosecution is issued.
Q2b - If no, for what reason is this your policy?
The MPS would like to be in a position to provide full updates. Unfortunately, due to the high volume of alleged offences submitted and owing to current resourcing pressures, an interim Standard Operating Procedure was created to amend the process and stop general updates where the evidential threshold was not met. This enables us to progress more offences reported to us and bring charges where appropriate.
