Freedom of information request reference no: 01.FOI.23.032967
I note you seek access to the following information:
Recently, the number of days for third party reports with evidence of traffic incidents on the Single Sign on system has recently changed from 10 days to 7 days.
Can you confirm what happens if an allegation with evidence is submitted after 8 days rather than within 7 days. Is it still reviewed or is it completely disregarded?
Until recently the guidance was 10 days so this is a significant reduction in time to report incidents.
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full.
Please find below information pursuant to your request above.
The reporting time has been decreased from 10 days to 7 days by Single On Line Home which is a National system that all Forces use and have agreed on. This was to ensure that there is time for a Notice of Intended Prosecution to be received by the offender within the 14 day period to comply with legislation. If the form is submitted by the 7 day, we still need to factor in the necessary checks to enable processing and for the offender to receive the Notice by 14 days (This is law). Due to the volume and time constraints we are unable to process reports that are received out of time.
