Following the review of supervisory ratios which was due to be completed in September 2023, when do you expect to achieve a 1:6 ratio of first line supervisors/ teams?

I have been advised of the following:

The outcome of the supervisory review has been delayed but will be presented to the board in January 2024. At that stage final leadership ratios will be defined and a timeline will be put in place detailing how it will be achieved. There is likely to be some prioritisation, which will be reflective of demand. In the meantime, we know the HMICFRS have called out the need for increased supervision within our BCUs so we’re taking steps now to ensure we have the right balance of skills and experience across our detective teams, to deliver a quality service for Londoners. This means we are increasing the numbers and experience of sergeants (uniform and detective) and officers are being posted to BCUs between September – January.
