1. How many police officers and police staff reported sick from 02/03/2018 until 01/03/2019, and out of this number, how many were recorded as disability related sickness

2. How many police officers and police staff reported sick from 02/03/2019 until 17/03/2020, and out of this number, how many were recorded as disability related sickness

3. How many police officers and police staff from 18/03/2020 until 17/03/2021 reported sick & out of this number, how many were recorded as:
(a) covid related sickness,
(b) disability related sickness

4. How many police officers and police staff from 18/03/2021 until 17/03/2022 reported sick & out of this number, how many were recorded as
(a) covid related sickness
(b) disability related sickness

5. How many police officers and police staff from 18/03/2022 until 30/09/2022 reported sick & out of this number, how many were recorded as
(a) covid related sickness
(b) disability related sickness

6. How many police officers and police staff from 01/10/2022 until 01/09/2023 reported sick & out of this number how many were recorded as

Q1 - How many police officers and police staff reported sick from 02/03/2018 until 01/03/2019, and out of this number, how many were recorded as disability related sickness

In this period 15,588 individual officers, 5,493 Staff and 796 PCSOs reported sick. The MPS do not record whether sickness is disability related, therefore we are unable to answer this part of the question.

Q2 - How many police officers and police staff reported sick from 02/03/2019 until 17/03/2020, and out of this number, how many were recorded as disability related sickness

In this period 16,808 individual officers, 5,997 Staff and 868 PCSOs reported sick. The MPS do not record whether sickness is disability related, therefore we are unable to answer this part of the question.

Q3 - How many police officers and police staff from 18/03/2020 until 17/03/2021 reported sick & out of this number, how many were recorded as:
(a) covid related sickness,
(b) disability related sickness

In this period 9,708 individual officers, 3,607 Staff and 526 PCSOs reported sick. The MPS do not record whether sickness is disability related, therefore we are unable to answer this part of the question. Of the reported sickness above, Covid related accounted for 3,671 officers, 1,047 staff and 156 PCSOs.

Q4 - How many police officers and police staff from 18/03/2021 until 17/03/2022 reported sick & out of this number, how many were recorded as
(a) covid related sickness
(b) disability related sickness

In this period 17,436 individual officers, 5,878 Staff and 784 PCSOs reported sick. The MPS do not record whether sickness is disability related, therefore we are unable to answer this part of the question. Of the reported sickness above, Covid related accounted for 7,207 officers, 1,996 staff and 236 PCSOs.

Q5 - How many police officers and police staff from 18/03/2022 until 30/09/2022 reported sick & out of this number, how many were recorded as
(a) covid related sickness
(b) disability related sickness

In this period 14,012 individual officers, 4,635 Staff and 582 PCSOs reported sick. The MPS do not record whether sickness is disability related, therefore we are unable to answer this part of the question. Of the reported sickness above, Covid related accounted for 4,483 officers, 1,477 staff and 195 PCSOs.

(b) disability related sickness

In this period 19,556 individual officers, 6,347 Staff and 786 PCSOs reported sick. The MPS not record whether sickness is disability related, therefore we are unable to answer this part of the question. Of the reported sickness above, Covid related accounted for 2,864 officers, 946 staff and 86 PCSOs.

We have no data on how many employees were working from home between this period, therefore this information is not held.

In this period, 24 individual officers, 232 Staff and 61 PCSOs were recorded as shielding.

As at end October 2023, there were 479 officers on Recuperative Duties.

We have no data on how many officers are shown as operational. This would depend on many factors, which are not recorded on the HR system.
