I note you seek access to the following information:
I am reaching out because I would like to know who is responsible for answering Freedom of Information requests around digital media investigations at Metropolitan Police Service. Our PR agency is working with a digital forensics client around resolving the digital evidence backlog.
Therefore, we are looking for anyone who would be contacted with a freedom of information request if needed. I’d really appreciate it if you could forward me the name and any contact details of that person at Metropolitan Police Service.
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full.
Please find below information pursuant to your request above.
Freedom of Information Act (FoIA) requests are submitted via the MPS online form. Once received the request is then logged by our Triage Team and allocated to a FoIA Information Manager from the MPS FoIA Team who are responsible for dealing with all FoIA requests.
The Information Manager will then make contact with the appropriate MPS business area/s to ascertain if any information to answer the request is held. Numerous contacts are often involved in answering FoIA’s, it is down to the detail of the question. We do not divulge details of MPS contacts to the requestor unless already in the public domain.
The MPS Director of Forensic Services is Chris Porter.
The online form for submitting a FoIA request to the MPS can be accessed via the below link:
