Policing of ULEZ expansion/Operation Eremon

1. How is the Met currently policing the ULEZ expansion?
2. How many officers are involved in 'Operation Eremon?'
3. Are police officers who are not directly part of Operation Eremon being involved in policing the ULEZ expansion? (If so - how many?)
4. How many police officers (in total and to date - 22 September 2023) have been deployed on any matters regarding the ULEZ expansion?
5. How many police hours have been dedicated to policing the expansion (as of 22 September 2023)?
6. How much (financially) has been spent so far (as of 22 September 2023) on policing the expansion?
7. How many police vehicles are being used in policing the ULEZ expansion?
8. Has the Met received an additional budget from City Hall for policing the expansion, or is the cost part of the Met's 'standard' annual budget?
9. If the cost of policing the ULEZ expansion is part of the Met's 'standard' budget, then which departments/areas within the Met have had their budget reduced in order to provide funds for this?

Q1 - How is the Met currently policing the ULEZ expansion?

Operation Eremon is coordinating investigation across the MPS. This is being led by a Detective Superintendent with access to other officers from within the MPS.

Q2 - How many officers are involved in 'Operation Eremon?'

This information is not held. There is not a team of officers dedicated to Operation Eremon. The MPS is using resource from across its available assets.

Q3 - Are police officers who are not directly part of Operation Eremon being involved in policing the ULEZ expansion? (If so - how many?)

The MPS is using resource from across its available assets.

Q4 - How many police officers (in total and to date - 22 September 2023) have been deployed on any matters regarding the ULEZ expansion?

This information is not held as we do not collate this data.

No, the MPS is funding all activity through its own budget.

Q9 - If the cost of policing the ULEZ expansion is part of the Met's 'standard' budget, then which departments/areas within the Met have had their budget reduced in order to provide funds for this?

This is not how this works. The MPS has to deliver operational policing and tackle crime trends and problems as they emerge. Crime against ULEZ infrastructure has been funded through Frontline Policing budgets as per other crimes.
