Q1 - What date and time did the Met Police receive writing that a Palestine Protest march would be held on 14/10/2023.
The MPS were contacted on Saturday 7 October at approximately 1250hrs via telephone call and informed of the intention to protest, the MPS committed this to our systems on the same day and are satisfied being contacted by telephone was a sufficient means in which to notify the MPS as the event was taking place 7 days after notification.
Q2- Who advised the police of the march?
The MPS were advised of the march by an organiser on behalf of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign group.
Q3 - Did the Met Police put any conditions on the march or organisers and if yes what where they?
The MPS Gold Commander – Deputy Assistant Commissioner imposed conditions on the march under the following Legislation.
• Section 12 Public Order Act 1986
o Any person participating in the ‘Palestine Solidarity Campaign’ protests (or individuals associated with, or sympathetic to this group) must not deviate from the route specified on the attached map (copy of map attached).
• Section 14(3) Public Order Act 1986
o Any person participating in the "London Palestine Protest" (or "Palestine Solidarity Campaign" protest, or individuals associated with, or sympathetic to, this group), must not enter the area shaded in red on the attached map.
