HMICFRS:
An inspection of the London regional response to serious and organised crime
HMICFRS found some weaknesses in how you record and assess organised crime. In the section headed 'Areas for improvement' the report states:
'The specialist crime command was operating with 300 staff vacancies.'
1. How many staff vacancies is the specialist crime command currently operating with?
The report states:
'In one of the force’s operational hubs focusing on organised crime, there should be 50 financial investigators; we found only 8 were in post.'

• Central Specialist Crime – 49 staff vacancies
• Specialist Crime North – No staff vacancies, in fact there is one staff member more than needed.
• Specialist Crime South – 5 staff vacancies.
