Every officer and first aid trainer staff are trained in the recognition and treatment of seizures (with epilepsy as one of the causes) both in the classroom and through a digital package.
Q3 - What is Metropolitan Police Service’s policy regarding grading the risk of a missing person who has epilepsy?
The MPS have pre-48 hours policy guidance, informant engagement guidance and the Grip & progression guidance staff utilise at the initial and ongoing stages of review and risk attribution. These guidance assets steer officers to risk-assess based on solid engagement with those reporting the incident and to account for any health-related matter impacting risk.
