How many Level 3 sex offenders are in your Policing area?
We currently have 5 Level 3 sex offenders living in the community in our police area.
How are they managed?
Level 3 sex offenders are managed in the same way as all other sex offenders. They are subject to notification requirements and the management of the offender is dictated by the risk management plan. A risk management plan is completed by the offender manager of each offender and details how they are going to manage the offender over the course of a year. As in all police areas, the Probation Service will be the lead agency while they are on licence and the police will be the lead agency after that for the remainder of the time they are on the sex offenders register.
What is your policy in regards to visiting Level 3 sex offenders?
The amount of times a level 3 sex offender is visited is dictated by the risk management plan that is completed by the offender manager. This will be on a case by case scenario depending on the risk posed by the offender.
Is your ViSOR system digital?
The Visor system doesn’t belong to the MPS, it is owned and managed by the Home Office for all UK forces. The system is digital.
