I note you seek access to the following information:
Please can you provide information on the structure of a BCU such as who runs it and what units come under a BCU.
Please can you provide information on the role of a "local commander" as apart of Frontline policing senior management team.
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full.
Please find below information pursuant to your request above.
In relation to request one, there is no one specific organisational structure of a Basic Command Unit (BCU). Generally speaking, each BCU is led by a BCU Commander (at the rank of Chief Superintendent) and each BCU operates with five strands. These strands are HQ, Emergency Response, Neighbourhoods, Local Investigations and Public Protection teams. In terms of the specific units that sit within them, this will vary according to needs of the locality.
In relation to request two, the BCU Commander is responsible for being pro-actively accountable for performance delivery across the BCU, and for building closer and stronger relationships with communities.
