On site police officers at schools

I note you seek access to the following information:

I am seeking information on how many schools have a police officer on site or on the perimeter of the premises on a daily basis during the school term in the Metropolitan police area.

Currently there are 311 Safer School Officers of which they are managing 613 Safer School Partnerships where we have agreed sign commitments and protocols as agreed between the school leadership team and MPS. In addition Safer School Officers will support others schools of which we have over 1014 across London covering secondary schools, PRUs and SEN provisions.

Every Safer School Partnership will have an assigned Safer School Officer who will be responsible for several others schools to manage alongside. During school term, they will manage their time accordingly so readily available and visible to the schools they’re responsible for. In addition, Safer School Officer shift patterns will be aligned so officers are readily available during school opening hours and in terms of coverage every London Borough has a dedicated team of Safer Schools Officers overseen by Supervisor.
