How many road traffic accidents were you called to during the following time periods?

1) Between 1 September 2021 – 31 August 2022
2) Between 1 September 2022 – 31 August 2023

Please find below information pursuant to your request above.

MPS Traffic prosecutions have answered in regards to officer attended road traffic collisions (RTC), number of reported cases only. These figures do not include where police have been called to damage only incidents and advised the parties to self-report at a police station or online, the parties may or may not have acted upon the advice given. The figures for callouts to RTC’s will be reflected in those provided by MPS MetCC.

Please see the figures below:

1) From 1 September 2021 – 31 August 2022 there were 22214
2) From 1 September 2022 – 31 August 2023 there were 19990

MPS MetCC have provided the below figures in regards to callouts to Damage Only and Personal Injury road traffic collisions.
