What time period, if any, does the MPS apply to historic substance use in respect of any prospective applicant to the MPS? i.e. is there a fixed or discretionary period that would apply in such circumstances which might prohibit an application on these grounds alone?

All vetting applications are looked at on an individual basis as such there are no definitive timescale for refusal. However when making a decision the vetting will take into account aggravating factors that can be further explained by following the link below. Specifically 8.4.2 that can be found on page 66.
