Information regarding Police Officer travel

I note you seek access to the following information:

As I deliver training for new staff that work on the railway gateline and revenue, I would just like any updated information that you may have regarding the Met Police rail travel.

I know all serving officers get an Oystercard issued for travel on TFL services, but some also pay into a scheme that permits them travel on National Rail. It’s the paid scheme that I am more interested in.

There are two schemes:

ATOC Rail Travel Scheme - this subsidised travel scheme closed to new members on 30 June 2022. Those who were not members of this scheme on 1 July 2022 are unable to join this scheme, with some exemptions, agreed in advance by HR. The current contract runs from 1 July 2022 – 30 June 2026.

RDG Zonal Rail Travel Scheme - as of 1 July 2022 all (new) police officers have access to the zonal travel scheme. The current contract runs from 1 July 2022 – 30 June 2026.
