Fixed traffic speed cameras that are currently in the MPS area

I note you seek access to the following information:

1. How many traffic enforcement cameras were out of use for any period of time during the year of 2022, due to either maintenance issues or funding limitations and currently, 2023 to date, up to the date of this request (or nearest date available) for the Metropolitan Police Service area.

2. How many fixed traffic speed cameras are there currently (total of working and not working) for the Metropolitan Police Service area.

3. How many handheld traffic speed cameras are there currently (total of working and not working) for the Metropolitan Police Service area.

4. How many traffic mobile speed trap cameras are there currently (total of working and not working) for the Metropolitan Police Service area.

Q1 - How many traffic enforcement cameras were out of use for any period of time during the year of 2022 , due to either maintenance issues or funding limitations and currently, 2023 to date, up to the date of this request (or nearest date available) for the Metropolitan Police Service area.

We do not hold this information. Please refer this question to Transport for London.

Q2 - How many fixed traffic speed cameras are there currently (total of working and not working) for the Metropolitan Police Service area.

The below figures is as of 24/8/23 and can vary dependant on the status of the camera. The figures also include average speed cameras.

Enforceable: 732
Not enforceable: 191

Q3 - How many handheld traffic speed cameras are there currently (total of working and not working) for the Metropolitan Police Service area.

We currently have 149 ProLaser devices.

Q4 - How many traffic mobile speed trap cameras are there currently (total of working and not working) for the Metropolitan Police Service area.

We also have 5 Lasercam devices.
