I note you seek access to the following information:

You recently responded to my previous FOI request (ref 01/FOI/23/029758) and advised there have been a total of 37,888 requests sent via the MPS Data Portal between 11/03/2022 and 27/04/2023.

Please provide the total number of requests sent via the MPS Data Portal between 11/03/2022 and 10/03/2023, broken down by the type of request and the organisation or company to which the request was sent.

I understood that requests made via the MPS Data Portal would be classified according to the type of information being requested, hence my request for figures to be broken down by “type of request”. If that is not the case, I am happy for figures to be supplied broken down just by the organisation or company to which the request was sent.

Decision

I have today decided to disclose some of the requested information. Some data has been withheld as it is exempt from disclosure and therefore this response serves as a Refusal Notice under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the Act) by virtue of the following exemptions:

Section 31(1)(a)(b) Law Enforcement

Reason for decision

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 31(1)(a)(b) Law Enforcement of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (‘the Act’), the requested company breakdown has been withheld.

Disclosure

A total of 36,239 requests were sent via the MPS Data Portal between 11/03/2022 and 10/03/2023. The portal is not classified into request “types”.
