If you’re planning an event or procession in London, by law you may need to notify us in advance. Whether it’s a festival, show, party, static demonstration or march, we’ll work with you to make sure it goes smoothly. Answer a few quick questions below to find out if you need to tell us about your event or procession, and the best way to do it.
I'm planning a static event in a public place.
Thank you. In this case we would ask that you notify us.
Although you’re not legally obliged to do so, we can give you valuable advice to help you make the most of your event. For instance, we can let you know of any other events, processions or counter-protests being planned in the same area on the same day. Simply follow the steps below.
Step 1: Download our Guidance to organisers of public events. This outlines your role and responsibilities as the event organiser.
Step 2: Click ‘Start’ below to complete our quick and simple online form. It should take around 20 minutes to complete. Please have the following details available if possible:
- The date and time of the event
- The event location
Step 3: We'll get back to you if we identify any possible issues or have any further questions.
Please note, if you’re planning to hold an event in Trafalgar Square or Parliament Square we strongly recommend you contact the Greater London Authority on 0207 983 4750. They can let you know of any other planned events on the same day that might conflict with yours.
