You do not have to wait 24 hours to report someone missing. It is not wasting police time to report someone missing. We are here to protect you and your loved ones.
When you provide us with information about a missing person we'll:
- review and assess
- email to confirm that we've got your report and tell you what will happen next.
It will be dealt with by our control room in exactly the same way whether you report it online or call us. You may find it easier to answer the questions online at your own pace.

How to report
You can complete this form on your own without talking to a police officer.
Any information you give us might be useful in the search. The more detail we get the better, but do not worry if you don’t have all of the information the form asks for.
There are lots of questions in this form. You must complete this form in one go. You cannot save your progress and come back later. You have up to two hours to complete each page of the form before it times out.

- what happened before and around the disappearance
- what they were wearing when they disappeared
- what money and transport they have access to

- other people we might want to talk to
We will also ask you to upload a recent photograph.
Even if the person has gone missing before, you still need to give us as much information as you can, including their basic details. This is because some of the details you gave us last time may have changed.
