The Crime Academy, within Learning and Development, is looking to expand its team to train detectives who join the Met as part of the Detective Constable Entry Programme (DCEP).
Delivery of this programme will begin in June 2025.
You will be responsible for leading a team of trainers comprising police staff and/or police officers.
The trainers will be responsible for delivering masterclasses that will train detectives to undertake the Investigation of Serious and Complex Crime in accordance with The College of Policing, Professionalising Investigations Programme, Level 2 (PIP 2).
As a leader of this team, you will play a vital role in providing direct entry pathway detectives with the training and skills development necessary for their role. Your role will directly empower and shape how this training is delivered, and how trainees are set up to succeed in serving the communities of London as developing detectives.
As the DCEP delivery manager, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders. Therefore, recent proven operational experience is critical to build those relationships in this new role. Proven operational experience is also required to understanding the landscape of detective operations and the factors that will therefore influence delivery of training.
This will be a full-time role in Learning and Development Delivery Services.
Our courses are delivered predominantly in person, in a classroom environment at Peel Centre, Hendon or Marlowe House, Sidcup. Flexibility is needed to work across both sites where needed. Blended working opportunities may be available according to business need.
Whilst this is a full-time role, applications are also considered through project balance share. Learning and Development supports flexible working, and this is reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
