Salary: The starting salary is £45,073, which includes allowances totalling £2,841. The salary is broken down as £42,232 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £50,385. There is also a location allowance of £1,841 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

This is an exciting opportunity to help deliver outcomes to meet the New Met for London, ‘we will be relentlessly data driven and evidence based in delivery’.
The role holder will develop a highly skilled and effective approach in records management and Review, Retention & Disposal (RRD) to deliver legislative compliance across the Met. You will lead and inspire a team of subject matter experts (SMEs) and ensure they remain highly skilled and effective in RRD compliance and legislation.
A key element of the role is the application of RRD principles in line with College of Policing APP. The team are responsible for the application of Police Information and Records Management (PIRM) whereby all data is subject to a National Retention Assessment Criteria (NRAC) review when a decision to either retain or dispose of data is made. In addition the team offer RRD guidance to the wider organisation.
As the manager, you will also be responsible for undertaking proactive audits of records management activity to test compliance against legislation and policy. You will provide strategic reporting and measure performance. You will work closely with colleagues across Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT), Information Asset Owners and Information Asset Assistants to promote a culture of responsibility and high standards, intervening to improve compliance levels and support operational performance when necessary. You will escalate any risk/issues to the Band B Senior Records Lead. You will be part of the extended Data Foundations Senior Leadership Team.
This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) level before taking up the post; with a willingness to undergo Developed Vetting (DV) once in post, if required.
Additionally, this material is of particular sensitivity to the UK and its distribution must be restricted to UK nationals. In approved circumstances dual nationals (of which one element is British) may also be granted access. However, in the event that potential conflicts of interest cannot be managed the post holder will not be able to see the intelligence material and will not be able to perform their duties. For the purpose of safeguarding national security and in line with Cabinet Office Policy, supported by Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), applicants who do not hold or acquire Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) OR Developed Vetting (DV) clearance and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post.
