Salary: The starting salary is £60,893, which includes allowances totalling £2,928. The salary is broken down as £57,965 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £63,230. There is also a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000. This post may attract a further market related allowance

The role
To support the senior safety advisor - training, and the Safety and Health Risk Management Team (SHRMT) with the development, assurance and delivery of core Met health and safety training.
Key responsibilities
- deliver approved health and safety training
- support development of Met Health & Safety (H&S) training through a needs analysis, input to future Met training courses
- support and develop Met H&S training courses including planning, design and implementation
- liaise, as directed by the Senior Safety Advisor Training, with other internal and external training stakeholders
- support and deliver the Safety and Health Risk Management Team (SHRMT) service delivery plan and objectives
- maintain professional membership for Continuous Professional Development (CPD) requirements
- support and maintain proactive and reactive monitoring processes for training
- provide training assurance to support the SHRMT audit programme
- participate and respond as a safety advisor on a 24 hour on-call service provided by the team and support the operational safety team in SHRMT as directed
- mentor, assess and develop staff studying training courses in health and safety
- maintain core operational and safety skills by participation in relevant SHRMT activity
