The Misconduct Hearing of PC Shaun Davies P222368 from Central North Command Unit concluded on Thursday 13 February 2025. The hearing took place in person at Palestra House, 197 Blackfriars Road, London. PC Davies attended and was legally represented by Campaspe Lloyd-Jacob.
It was alleged that PC Davies conduct breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour, in particular the Standards relating to (i) Equality and Diversity, and (ii) Discreditable Conduct, in that:
On 5 June 2010 PC Davies repeatedly made racially offensive and discriminatory comments to Officer A, first at the Epsom Downs Racecourse and later at the Walkabout bar.
Later that day on 5 June 2010 PC Davies physically assaulted Officer A at the Walkabout bar.
It was also alleged that in December 2009, PC Davies attended a Christmas social event, held at the Honourable Artillery Company and during the course of that event he made a racially discriminatory gesture towards Officer B.
It was alleged that such conduct breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour, in particular the Standard relating to Equality and Diversity.
The panel considered all of the evidence presented by the Appropriate Authority and found allegations 1*, 2 and 3 proven at Gross Misconduct.
*The panel pointed out that they had found proven that PC Davies had pulled Officer A's hair without consent but had not dragged Officer A across the bar's floor or that Officer A fell to the ground.
PC Davies was dismissed without notice.
